The landscaping design of this Family House in the Lebanese Mountain addresses the Owners’ request to have their swimming pool on an elevated terrace to keep it apart from the service areas at ground level.
Our Solution
The existing outdoor family sitting area is visually and physically linked to the terrace through stairs and landscaped lawns underneath the footbridge. The Terrace features a no edge pool offering an outstanding view over the valley. The pool is offset from the center of the terrace to offer more space for large receptions and occasional banquets. It is organized to have pergolas and rest areas standing against the cascading gardens on its back. The whole space culminates in a special area that can be dedicated for a private Jacuzzi or private outdoor sitting with proper shading. The Terrace is also equipped with a small bar to offer drinks and light meals. The bar is located near the stairs leading to the winter bar and changing rooms at ground floor while optimizing the service circulation for backups. The indoor ground floor comprises a depressed fire place and a billiard. At the back of the GF bar, the glazed porthole on the swimming pool is another point of attraction that contributes to the quality of the indoor space. The chimney is totally integrated in the landscaping and translates into a shower pole at terrace level. The changing rooms comprise bathrooms and showers for the guests. The technical areas are kept at the back side of the terrace.
